Leadership Transition

It is with great excitement and sadness that we announce the transition of our beloved leader, Karissa Lewis, out of her role as the Executive Director of  The Center for Third World Organizing. Karissa has been with us for almost 10 years, growing from a MAAP apprentice into the Executive Director. Karissa joyfully led with a full heart and riger, holding a true dedication to communities of color. Our mission here at CTWO is to help build and sustain a thriving racial justice movement led by communities of color and in, Karissa Lewis has led as an embodiment of that mission.

Karissa leaves us to continue her commitment to Black people and take on the role of Field Director with the Movement for Black Lives. We are overjoyed about this new leadership role that provides Karissa the opportunity to support a broader movement and shine as the leader she is.

Please take a moment to read more about her transition in her own words.
